Watch: Nepal captain gifted Smriti Mandhana a ‘token of love’ statue

InduBarma, who is the captain of the Nepal women's cricket team, came up with a heartwarming gesture after their Women's Asia Cup 2024 match against India, gifting stand-in captain SmritiMandhana a special Buddha statue. The 'token of love' was handed over to SmritiMandhana during the post-match presentation ceremony in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, on Tuesday, July 23.

India defeated Nepal in a one-sided contest in their final Group A match to seal a spot in the semi-finals of the Women's Asia Cup. While it was intense on the field, India and Nepal players kept it light off it. SmritiMandhana and InduBarma went on to pose for a photograph with the former flaunting the special gift from the Nepal cricket team.
Soon after the post-match formalities, young players of the Nepal cricket team did not miss an opportunity to get photos clicked with SmritiMandhana. The Indian batting star took time out to pose with every player who requested a photograph with her.
