After the historic victory of Team India in the ICC T20 World Cup in Barbados, cricket star Suryakumar Yadav received a triumphant welcome at his Mumbai home. The touching return home was a fitting cap to an incredible journey that saw India win its first trophy for the Indian Cricket Team in thirteen years.
The triumphant return of the Indian cricket team to their homeland started when they arrived in Delhi, where they were welcomed by jubilant supporters and had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Thousands of fervent spectators watched an open-top bus parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai as the festivities continued.

When Sky arrived home, his family welcomed him with open arms. In keeping with Indian customs, his mother gave him a garland as a welcome and performed an aarti, applying a tikka to his forehead. With the help of dhol performers that the family had hired, Suryakumar and his wife Devisha Shetty were able to dance in celebration and proudly show off his well-deserved medal.
