At the R. Premadasa Stadium on August 7, in the third and final ODI between India and Sri Lanka Shubman Gill failed to make a significant impact as he departed early.
After Sri Lanka posted a formidabble target of 248 runs for the team India, India opener came to chase down the target.However, the things turned out to be in Sri Lanka’s favour as they removed Shubman Gill early, scoring 6 off 14 runs.
The incident occurred in the 5th over during the India’s innings when Asitha struck gold and removed Gill.It was a good length delivery on the stumps, however Gill decided to take on the shimmies down the wicket. It was a wild swing coming from the bowler, which straight hit the stumps.
