Wicketkeeper and batsman of RCB Dinesh Karthik is retire from the IPL

After the elimination in Ahmedabad, veteran wicketkeeper and batsman of team India and RCB Dinesh Karthik took off his gloves and received a guard of honour. After the heartbreaking defeat in the playoff match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Karthik took off his gloves and acknowledged the applause from the crowd.

In the successful chase of 173 runs by Rajasthan after Rovman Powell hit the winning runs for RR, Dinesh shared an emotional hug with Virat Kohli. He has yet to officially confirm his retirement from the IPL after having stressed quite a few times throughout the season that the IPL 2024 might be his last as a player.

DK RCB teammates also gave him an emotional guard of honour before the players walked off the field. It was a heartbreaking evening for the RCB stars as their resurgent run came to a grinding halt. RCB were reeling at the bottom of the table midway through the season, winning only one out of the eight matches. However, they sneaked through to the playoffs, winning six on the trot, which included a knockout punch to the 5-time champion Super Kings.
