With 349/5 total, Team Baroda sets world record

Baroda shattered multiple records in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy by scoring a staggering 349/5 against Sikkim, setting the highest-ever total in men’s T20 cricket on December 5 in Indore. This monumental score surpassed the previous record of 344/4 held by Zimbabwe, achieved against Gambia earlier in October 2024.

Leading the charge for Baroda was BhanuPania, who scored an explosive 134 runs off just 51 balls, including 15 sixes. He was well supported by Shivalik Sharma (55 off 17 balls) and Abhimanyu Singh (53 off 17 balls). Baroda also became the first Indian domestic team to surpass 100 runs in a T20 PowerPlay, achieving this milestone in just 5.1 overs.

Additionally, Baroda set a new record for the most sixes in a T20 innings, hitting 37 sixes and breaking Zimbabwe’s previous record of 27. This performance not only marked a historic moment for Baroda but also highlighted their dominance in the tournament, as they became the first team to post a total over 300 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The match showcased an extraordinary display of batting prowess, solidifying Baroda’s place in T20 history.
