With Babar Azam on fire, Pakistan sent a warning to India ahead of the T20 World Cup

The captain of the Pakistan cricket team made history on Saturday during the second T20 match against the England cricket team, despite Pakistan losing the match. Babar Azam closed in on Virat Kohli after surpassing Indian captain Rohit Sharma in a significant T20I run-scoring record.
While Pakistan was trying to chase that target of 184 runs, Babar got off to a good start, but he was unable to record a significant inning at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Before being caught in front of the wicket by Moeen Ali, Babar scored 32 runs off 26 balls. However, Babar overtook Rohit on the list of players with the most T20I runs after he crossed the 20-run threshold.
Babar is now just behind Virat Kohli in the major record, having eclipsed Rohit’s T20I run total of 3,974. Babar has now scored 3,987 runs in T20Is and is just 50 runs behind Kohli’s tally. Despite appearing in just two matches since November 2022, the former Indian captain tops the list with 4,037 runs in just 109 innings.
But with two more T20I matches left against England in the four-match series, Babar is likely to surpass Virat Kohli’s total, as there are no T20I matches scheduled for India before the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
