With iconic helicopter shot & Jersey 7, MS Dhoni’s Ranchi residence gets major makeover

MS Dhoni's residence in Ranchi has been renovated, featuring tributes to his career. The house now prominently displays his iconic jersey number 7 and silhouettes of his famous "helicopter shot".

The Jharkhand State Housing Board granted Dhoni the land to build the residence in 2009. The renovated house has become a popular selfie spot for fans. A wall showcases some of Dhoni's iconic moments, including his winning pose from the 2007 World T20 and his last six in the 2011 ODI World Cup final.

Dhoni's connection to the number 7 is well-known. He was born on July 7th, and he owns a lifestyle brand called "SEVEN". The BCCI retired jersey number 7 as a tribute to Dhoni after he retired from international cricket.

Despite retiring from international cricket, Dhoni continues to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Although he stepped down as CSK's captain in 2023, he was retained by the franchise for INR 4 crore for the 2025 season. Dhoni has played 264 IPL matches, scoring 5,243 runs at an average of 39.12 with a strike rate of 137.53. He has led CSK to five IPL titles.
