With poor results, Team India runs a huge risk of slipping from the top spot of the WTC standings

Team India will be back in action after a lengthy break. And upon their return, Rohit Sharma-led men in blue will take on Bangladesh in a 2-match Test series in India. Currently, Team India tops the World Test Championship standings, while Australia is placed second. But negative results against Bangladesh can see India skipping into the second spot.

Interestingly, ahead of the India vs. Bangladesh Test series, South Africa takes on the West Indies, Pakistan takes on Bangladesh, and England plays Sri Lanka. But the results of none of these three series don’t affect India’s position in the WTC Standings.

But two draws can see India slipping down while Australia takes on their top spot again. On the other hand, a single win will see India retain their top spot. But the ideal scenario for India would be to win their 2 Tests comprehensively to keep Australia at a bay’s length.
