Despite performing well in the domestic matches, ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been ignored once again from the T20 squad. However, the leg spinner will be a part of the Indian squad for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa. After not being named in the T20 squad, Yuzvendra Chahal also uploaded a cryptic post on his Instagram account. It is to be noted that Team India has just five matches left before they go on to participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Once a regular member of the India T20 squad, Yuzvendra Chahal played his last 20-over match back in August 2023 against the West Indies. Speaking about his numbers in the shortest format of the game, Chahal has played 80 T20 matches for India and has scalped a total of 96 wickets at a decent economy rate of 8.19. The 33-year-old also has a five-wicket haul to his name while representing the Indian cricket team in T20Is.
The T20 World Cup will be played from June 4 to 30 in the West Indies and the USA. At present, India is facing Australia in a T20I series. With just two matches left in the series, India will next face South Africa in a three-match T20I series.
