Yashasvi Jaiswal sheds light on sharing dressing room with Gambhir as he is charged up for Duleep Trophy

The batter of Indian cricket team YashasviJaiswal will be in action for Team B in the opening match of the Duleep Trophy 2024 on Wednesday. The swashbuckling southpaw is all charged up to return to action in the domestic red-ball tournament and is eager to display his prowess. Jaiswal is a most-likely inclusion in India’s Test XI and is expected to open the batting along with captain Rohit Sharma in IND vs BAN and other upcoming Test series.

He said, “Domestic tournaments like Duleep Trophy and Irani Trophy are very important games and it gives me a lot of confidence and helps me prepare for those internationalgames.”

Jaiswal played his first series under new head coach GautamGambhir after the latter took over the reins from Rahul Dravid. The southpaw has opened up about the environment in the dressing room with the arrival of Gambhir.

Jaiswal said, “Yes, I have spoken with him during the Sri Lanka series. He really backed us saying just go out and play freely and enjoy the game and we will be with you. It gives us a lot of confidence and helps us to play fearlessly.”
